The +5 acc +5 crit mele skills gloves are probably the closest thing to good backer trinkets (and indeed most of my bounty hunters had those gloves and the +2 speed +8 dodge all game long). The +dodge -food trinkets (especially combined with the speed and dodge trinkets) means all your lvl 0 guys have 2 armor upgrades worth of dodge, get to act quite quickly and have food to blow on healing. The +10 acc ranged skills greaves can be really useful on many characters in many runs. Various slayer rings can be better as your damage options than high-end trinkets (and I had bad luck with finding man-slayer rings in dungeons, too). For example there's the +2 Speed +8 dodge trinket, 2-4 of those really makes a difference. But it's not something to entirely rule out say you have a plague doctor at 3, another couple at 1 or 2, a single good quality stun trinket can make your runs easy peasy and slash recovery costs what with plague doctor stun / hit point and stress heal.Ä«uying trinkets allows stuff to happen, as aardvarkpepper said. Would I say someone should go around buying trinkets, certainly not, it's very conditional and even rather later in the game you want to save gold for armor and ability upgrades (weapons too sure). If you pack on food trinkets, then the hunger events don't mess with you as much, and you don't go through the food so fast when camping, which makes a signfiicant difference to getting the feasting healing and stress relief bonuses. If you're not packing a dedicated healer or your healer isn't that great, you pack more food, plus there's problems in longer dungeons with backtracking and hunger events. Then there's food trinkets, but the idea isn't to save on food costs so much, it just radically increases your range of viable parties. That can mean a big jump in your ability to survive higher level dungeons. You definitely can't go around just blowing gold on trinkets, but if you're looking at like a 40 stun bonus on plague doctor, it's worth thinking about if you've managed to upgrade nomad wagon, have a leveled plague doctor with stun skills. You pay the cost up front, get the benefits, the benefits add up. Buying trinkets is a pre-emptive measure. ![]()
